Vane pumps are used in a wide variety of applications. Vane pumps are ideally suited for low-viscosity, non-lubricating liquids because of vane strength and the absence of metal-to-metal contact. Such liquids include LPG, ammonia, solvents, alcohol, fuel oils, gasoline, and refrigerants.
Types of Vane Pump:
- External Vane Pump : It can handle large solids.
- Flexible Vane Pump : It can handle small solids but create good vacuum.
- Sliding Vane Pump : It can run dry for short periods of time and handle small amounts of vapor etc.

- Vane pumps can usually handle fluid temperatures ranging from -32°C to 260°C and pressures to 30 bar / 400 psi.
